Rami Avidan, now head of Tele2 M2M Global Solutions, has a deep understanding of the Telco industry with a specific focus on the M2M/IoT industry where he has been involved for 15 years, primarily due to the fact that he started and ran The Wyless Group of companies for several years.He has various experiences and a deep knowledge of how to start and lead businesses and take them from A-Z. He has been been involved with 8 different businesses where he has led the “exit” of most of those, either through trade-sale, equity sell or IPO. He has been active as a board member and senior manager in both small as well as large operations and has acted in several international operations, mainly in the UK, Spain, Switzerland, Israel, Scandinavia and North America. He has a vast contact network across many nations and industries.

Sean Fleming is the VP, IoT Business & Ecosystem Development, part of the Security & IoT Unit within Nokia’s Applications & Analytics business group. Prior to Nokia, Sean was the Vice President of Business Development Worldwide for Mformation (acquired by Alcatel-Lucent). He was responsible for all of Mformation’s strategic alliances, channel partners and OEM relationships. He has previously served in various roles within Mformation, solution sales, presales, professional services, & customer support. Since joining Mformation in 2004, Sean has a proven track record in building world class presales & services teams and deep customer relationships through strong presales & post-sales support. Prior to Mformation, Sean was a management consultant in the communication & media industry sectors of IBM, PricewaterhouseCoopers & Andersen Consulting (Accenture). Sean has led implementation teams for various fortune 500 companies. Sean holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Delaware

James is currently Managing Director of SmartThings in Europe. Previously, James was at Connected Homes in February 2014 and was responsible for the Smart Energy Report and Live Energy Data products. These provide customers with powerful insights on energy consumption, combined with tips and comparisons with similar households to give a complete view of their home energy use. James has over 20 years experience in the technology, telecoms and retail sectors across product development, commercial and technology roles. His last role was at O2 (Telefonica Digital) where he had accountability for developing the Machine-to-Machine and Internet-of-Things vision and strategy, definition of new products and propositions, creation and execution of the marketing plan and identifying new business opportunities and commercial innovations to grow revenue.

Luke Ibbetson,

Luke Ibbetson is the Chairman of NB-IoT Forum. He has been with Vodafone since 1996 and is currently leading the Vodafone Group Research and Development organisation. Luke is responsible for all aspects of network / IT research including Vodafone’s participation in international standards, definition of the architectural blueprint for future networks, trials of emerging / disruptive technologies and concepts, the evolution of telecoms security and long term spectrum matters. Luke led Vodafone's exploration of alternative access solutions “beyond 3G” and is now heading Vodafone's 5G strategy. Luke has a passion for fresh thinking and has successfully championed the introduction of many new technology start-up companies within Vodafone. Prior to this, Luke worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Leeds for over six years, undertaking contract research for companies including BT Laboratories and Cellnet (now Telefonica O2). Luke holds Chartered Engineer status with the Institute of Engineering Technology.

Head of the M2M Centre of Competence at Swisscom, Gerhard Schedler leads the development of the M2M business unit in both national and international markets.Prior joining Swisscom in 2012 , Gerhard Schedler, held the position of President & CEO, IDENTEC SOLUTIONS from 2006-2011 where he was instrumental in transforming the company from a tech start up into a global leader of active RFID and wireless solutions. Schedler was also accredited with establishing an industry alliance that ultimately lead to increased market adoption and standarization. Mr. Schedler holds both a technical degree from the University of Applied Sciences of Technology Buchs (Switzerland) and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Economics in Strathclyde (Scotland).

Dr. Alexander Lautz is currently in charge of the Business Unit M2M at Deutsche Telekom AG. In this role, he is responsible for developing innovative machine-to-machine products and solutions. Mr. Lautz joined T-Mobile Deutschland GmbH in 2002, first as Head of Business Marketing, before taking over as Head of Consumer Marketing in 2004. When Deutsche Telekom launched congstar as its second brand in Germany in 2007, Mr. Lautz took over as Managing Director of the company. In 2011, he moved to the growth initiative Connected Car, where he was responsible for Marketing, Services and Technology. Before his career at Deutsche Telekom, Mr. Lautz held different management positions at CNI GmbH and Mannesmann Arcor AG and was Managing Director of an IP provider for business customers..

Mehmet Ali Akarca holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Economics from the University of Nottingham and a MSc degree in Tourism and Marketing from the University of Surrey. He started his career at Koc Holding as a Management Trainee and held several management positions within the Group companies. He was General Manager of BookinTurkey.com (2001-2003), General Manager of Koc.net Telecom (2003-2011), and Deputy General Manager of Koc Media Marketing (2011-2012). He joined Turk Telekom in October 2012 as Vice President of Marketing and Communications Department (later renamed as Corporate Department in December 2012). Mr. Akarca has served as Chief Corporate Commercial Officer between September 2014 – December 2014 and has been CEO of the Corporate Business Unit of TTNET since December 30, 2014. Mehmet Ali Akarca is married and has two children.

Manfred Kube is Head of M2M Segment & Offer Marketing and Director Business Development mHealth at Gemalto and based in Munich, Germany. His role includes global marketing for Gemalto’s Industrial IoT offering, the assessment of industry trends, analysis of eco systems and future business models.


Manfred has studied electrical engineering at the Technical University Munich and the University of Melbourne and did an MSc program at the Institute for IT in Healthcare in Konstanz. He looks back on more than 15 years of experience in the mobile business and industrial IoT space, consulting mobile network suppliers, mobile phone manufacturers and M2M companies.
Manfred is a frequent speaker at industry events and an active participant in industry alliances like the GSMA and the Personal Connected Health Alliance (Continua).

His department is in charge of defining the strategy and the partnerships in M2M in the whole world. Before, he worked as Business Development Manager at Ericsson Spain and Product Manager of new means of Payment in the Spanish Confederation of Saving Banks.

Ambroise Popper drives Sequans product roadmap, including definition and strategy, as well as strategic partnerships. He is a member of the company’s original founding team. Secondly in market analysis/consulting roles, including as a Director of Research at Dataquest/Gartner and as an independent consultant. He has been researching the M2M/IOT market for over a decade, since 2001, and is an internationally recognized thought leader in this area. Clients include major market players from all parts of the M2M/IOT value chain.Robin gained a BSc honours degree in Electronics, followed by an MSc in Management and Business Studies at Warwick University in the UK. Emmanuel Routier started his carreer in 1991 at France Telecom on the deregulated market of voice & data private networks for French major accounts. Emmanuel then worked during 11 years in wholesale business, which took him to the US for France Telecom North America and to Europe for Mobistar. He also played an active role from 2004 to 2006 in the coordination of France Telecom Group wholesales business as Wholesale Coordination Committee Officer.. He joined Mobistar in 1999, where he managed Mobistar interconnection business, then extended his responsibilities to roaming, mobile & fix wholesales business and then to Machine to Machine activity. Emmanuel is, since beginning 2009, Director Machine to Machine & Intl M2M Center. He is responsible for Mobistar Machine to Machine Business Unit and for the M2M global offer for the Orange Group.
