Gerbrand Schalkwijk,

Gerbrand Schalkwijk manages direct and indirect sales for Inmarsat’s customers in the energy market. Gerbrand Schalkwijk was appointed Head of the Energy division within Inmarsat’s Enterprise Business Unit in January 2012. Based in The Hague, he is responsible for the company’s direct and indirect sales channels in the Oil and Gas, Mining and Utilities sectors and for delivering the company’s ‘go-to market’ strategy within these sectors. Gerbrand began his career in (mobile) satellite communications in 1996, following completion of a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from University of Twente in The Netherlands. In 2009, Gerbrand completed his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago (Booth School of Business)


Marc Overton,

Currently Vice President of Wholesale & Machine to Machine at Everything Everywhere. With the merger of Orange and T-Mobile, Everything Everywhere is the largest mobile operator in the UK with nearly 30m customers and 19,000 employees. With over 20 Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs, including Virgin Mobile) serving over 5 million customers, Everything Everywhere is the also the UK's largest mobile wholesale operator. With the rise in connected devices (smart meters, remote monitoring, telematics etc) he is also responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities around M2M.Yellow Pages before moving to 3 where he finished as Global Director of Products and Services. Subsequently MD for Wanadoo, the ISP formerly called Freeserve, before joining Orange where he has run wholesale, business development, strategy and business performance.
Jürgen Hase, (Chairman M2M-Alliance)

Jürgen Hase joined Deutsche Telekom AG in 2011 to head the M2M Competence Center. Within Deutsche Telekom he is responsible for the international M2M business. Jürgen has worked more than 20 years in the telecommunications industry and in the M2M sector. He is also Chairman of the M2M alliance.

Omer Pesach has been m2mAIR's VP R&D and Products since June 2012. Before joining Telit, Omer Pesach was CTO and co-founder of GlobalConect Ltd., an M2M connectivity enterprise acquired by Telit in July 2011. In 2007 Omer Pesach co-founded and served as CTO of BroadSense Ltd., a startup in the cellular networks diagnostics field which was later acquired by RedBend Software, a global mobile software management and FOTA technology company servicing mobile phone manufacturers and operators. Prior to BroadSense, Omer Pesach was a partner and VP R&D of Peroon, a mobile software development firm.

Angel David García Barrio joined the Telefónica Group in 2001 as Head of M-Commerce at Telefónica Móviles. Currently is the Head of Strategy and Alliances of the M2M Global Unit in Telefónica Group. His department is in charge of defining the strategy and the partnerships in M2M in the whole world. Before, he worked as Business Development Manager at Ericsson Spain and Product Manager of new means of Payment in the Spanish Confederation of Saving Banks.

Chris Baker is the Global Head of ISV/OEM Sales responsible for working with ISV/OEM partners to maximise Oracle's business through those partners, whilst maximising those partner's business to their end users. Prior to this role Chris was a member of Oracle’s EMEA Management Team and Senior Vice President with responsibility for Oracle’s core technology business. Baker is a qualified civil engineer and holds a BSc in civil engineering from Dundee University. He has worked in the IT industry for more than 25 years.

Head of the M2M Centre of Competence at Swisscom, Gerhard Schedler leads the development of the M2M business unit in both national and international markets.Prior joining Swisscom in 2012 , Gerhard Schedler, held the position of President & CEO, IDENTEC SOLUTIONS from 2006-2011 where he was instrumental in transforming the company from a tech start up into a global leader of active RFID and wireless solutions. Schedler was also accredited with establishing an industry alliance that ultimately lead to increased market adoption and standarization. Mr. Schedler holds both a technical degree from the University of Applied Sciences of Technology Buchs (Switzerland) and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Economics in Strathclyde (Scotland).

Emmanuel Routier started his carreer in 1991 at France Telecom on the deregulated market of voice & data private networks for French major accounts. Emmanuel then worked during 11 years in wholesale business, which took him to the US for France Telecom North America and to Europe for Mobistar. He also played an active role from 2004 to 2006 in the coordination of France Telecom Group wholesales business as Wholesale Coordination Committee Officer.. He joined Mobistar in 1999, where he managed Mobistar interconnection business, then extended his responsibilities to roaming, mobile & fix wholesales business and then to Machine to Machine activity. Emmanuel is, since beginning 2009, Director Machine to Machine & Intl M2M Center. He is responsible for Mobistar Machine to Machine Business Unit and for the M2M global offer for the Orange Group.
Renaud Di Francesco, PhD,

Renaud Di Francesco, PhD, coordinates the Technology & Standards Operation of Sony Group for Europe. His interests include Mobile, Multimedia, Connected TV, Cinema, cross-media and platform systems and service, User Experience, M2M, consumer applications of Cloud Computing, energy, e-vehicle.Prior to Sony, he has held research, technology and business management positions at France Telecom, managing large international networks and services projects, and satellite enterprise projects (including M2M). He has also worked at the European Commission, where he was in charge of the portfolio of telecom network management, security and e-commerce in the ACTS programme, and later coordinator of the preparation of European Councils of Telecom Ministers.After 25 years devoted to various aspects of digital technologies, he is thrilled to contribute to a new landscape in Europe, and help opportunities emerge and grow for the benefit of market and society.

Mrs. Kocabas started her professionalcareer as a Management Trainee at Koc Holding, and later worked as HumanResources Expert at Arcelik, then as a Human Resources Coordinator at Marshall,followed by Groupe Danone SA, where she worked as Human Resources Director.Selen Kocabas is a graduate of Economics from Istanbul University. Miguel Blockstrand,

Miguel is head of product management for connected devices. He has more than 20 years’ experience in telecoms and is currently responsible for the connected devices portfolio offering within Business Unit Networks. Most recently, he has been responsible for the Mobile TV and IPTV network infrastructure portfolios within Ericsson. Prior to his engagements in the TV area, he held several senior management positions within R&D, Marketing and Business Development. He was involved in the first deployments of GSM, the Japanese PDC mobile system and WCDMA. He holds a M.Sc. in mechanical engineering from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden.

 

Geoffrey Bernd Gross,

Bernd is the CEO of Cumulocity - the M2M spin off of Nokia Siemens Networks. He is one of the co-founders of Cumulocity and was previously responsible for the Machine-to-Machine Business at Nokia Siemens Networks. In this role Bernd and his team created one of the leading cloud based software platforms for M2M solutions which was launched by Nokia Siemens Networks under the name Cumulocity. Previously he also successfully incubated the Machine-to-Machine innovation program out of Silicon Valley, California as part of the Nokia Siemens Networks business venturing activities. Prior to Machine-to-Machine activities Bernd held various senior management positions in Sales, Marketing, Business Development and Program Management. He is a globally oriented executive with 20 years of work experience in Germany, Finland, UK and US (Silicon Valley). Bernd holds a master degree in Information & Communication Technology and an Executive MBA from the London Business School.

Key responsibilities include the Smarter Transmission strategy and SmartZone demonstration project, which aim to prepare the network for the many challenges ahead using wide area monitoring, control and protection.
Stéphane Paccaud,

Stéphane Paccaud currently oversees the business development of the HP Machine to Machine offering, with responsibilities to develop the HP vision, to grow the customer base, to develop alliances, and to support the solution roadmap evolution. Stéphane has been working with HP for more than 8 years, in various business development and alliance management roles in EMEA and globally.

Most recently, Stéphane developed and introduced innovative solutions for the automation of smart metering and smartgrid processes. In his first years in HP, Stéphane developed channels to market and strategic partnerships for the HP telecoms software with System Integrators and equipment providers.Prior to joining HP, Stéphane had spent 4 years with ALU (Lucent Technologies at the time) in EMEA product management and business development roles, where he developed and introduced innovative convergent charging solution for pre and postpaid, voice and data schemes. Stéphane holds an MBA from INSEAD, an engineering Master degree from the ISAE (Institut Supérieur de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace), and has spent 2 years as postgraduate student in Russia at the MAI (Moscow Aviation Institute).


Patrick Shay,

Patrick joined ORBCOMM in 2012. Mr. Shay has 25 years of innovative leadership experience in the GPS and wireless markets. Most recently, he was Vice President and General Manager for DeLorme where he led the business for the company's InReach family of two-way personal satellite communications products. Prior to DeLorme, Mr. Shay served as Vice President and General Manager, Data Services at Iridium Communications where he led the newly created data service business. Mr. Shay has also held Vice President positions at Hughes Telematics, Sirius Satellite Radio and Rand McNally. He began his career with Motorola where he led the global sales team for the company's GPS and telematics business.
Patrick Waters,

Patrick Waters have built-up extensive expertise in mobile telecommunications from applied research into civil and military communications over 25 years. He has a broad system engineering view including experience from radio communications equipment design, digital signal processing and smartcard technologies, and has developed expertise in more recent years on the application of mobile communications. A recognized industry expert on Near Field Communications, he brings expertise on the emerging technologies and business opportunities in identity, mobile commerce, Subscriber Identity Modules (the smartcard in the phone) and on Machine-to-Machine (where distributed devices communicate without human intervention).

Jacques is in charge of the company overall management of Transatel. He supervises all the Strategic and International Developments and Shareholder Relations. In November 2009, Jacques has been elected as President of Alternative Mobile the French MVNO association gathering the biggest French MVNOs (Virgin Mobile, Carrefour Mobile, Auchan Mobile, NRJ Mobile, KPN France Mobile, …). Jacques is now leading all the Association MVNO efforts towards the French government and the French Telecom regulatory authority.
Kfir Dan-Ari,

Kfir Dan-Ari - With more than 15 years of experience in telecommunications, Kfir Dan-Ari is Marketing Director for Amdocs M2M business unit, and plays a key role in defining Amdocs’ solution strategy and roadmap going forward, as well as running all of the unit’s marketing activities, including positioning Amdocs in the M2M market, with analyst briefings, industry events, and across the media. Kfir also runs the unit’s internal marketing activities to support Amdocs’ sales force. Prior to this role, Kfir held the position of director of competitive strategy, leading competitive intelligence on Amdocs competitors, and developing a counter strategy to maintain Amdocs’ position as leader in BSS and OSS. Previous roles include managing the product marketing activities of Amdocs’ OSS offering, and presales positions at network equipment vendors such as ECI Telecom and Marconi.
